C.S. Lewis is one of Britain’s most famous writers. His most notable work, known all over the world, is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe which forms part of his Chronicles of Narnia.

We look at his short piece entitled Meditations in a Toolshed. In this piece Lewis examines how we can know things and uses a very clear example of a beam of light to explain different thoughts on love, life, and religion. While we look to understand Lewis’, admittedly slightly difficult, analogy, pay attention to his use of punctuation and how he draws attention to words and ideas in his text through the use of italics and speech marks.

MAIN QUESTION: What is the difference between ‘looking at’ and ‘looking along’?

An example of a difference between A and B

An immediately obvious example of a difference between Korea and the West is the way in which people address each other i.e., using titles or names.

5th paragraph Structure

If you want to lose weight you must eat, no food that claims to be low fat but still comes in plastic packages from a supermarket, but fresh fruit and vegetables and other natural produce.

If you want to better understand the materials we are studying you should try to read them, not with an eye solely on the language used, but with an understanding of the bigger picture that they are trying to present.
